Clifton

We went to Clifton today. Emma led a few severes and I pottered about on the 3 Star VS Dirl Chimney and a 3 Star E1 Wall Street. The crag is in a nice setting with veiws out to the solway coast, but the climbs are short which takes something away from them. I would make a trip down to Meikle Ross again but would would not drive from Edinburgh to just got to Clifton.

Galloway

Today was the first of 2 days in Galloway and Dumfries with Emma. We went to Meikle Ross and climbed a mixture of routes, the best being Mellow Yellow. This 3 Star VS 4c in Little Zawn is well worth checking out.

Today I was at the Limekilns with friends trying to tick the last few routes I have not yet done. It was a good for both weather and climbing. Fiona experienced her first outdoor trad routes and Mhairi led her first E3.

Back Bowden

We stopped off at Back Bowden to have a play on the sandstone and do some trad. A nice cool start to the day was perfect as all 3 of us ticked the classic Outward Bound. Neil then did the direct finish to the Tube, whilst I opted for the classic version. A nice change from the bolts.

Yorkshire Sport

I.ve been down at Gordale for the last 4 days doing a bit of sports climbing with some friends. The weather has been excellent, which meant that temperature at the crag was perfect in the shade. It's my first time clipping bolts in Yorkshire and I was pleasently suprised by the quality of the climbing. Overall the trip was a success, with a few good ticks made.
